The range and diversity of Audra's work as a performer is unparalleled. She has won six Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards and one Emmy Award. A record six-time winner from her Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards in addition to an Emmy Award she received in the year 2015 by Barack Obama. With a stunning soprano with an extraordinary talent to tell the truth She is equally as at ease on Broadway and the opera scene as she is in her film and television roles. In addition to her theatre job, she is also pursuing an active career as a musician and recording artist. She is regularly performing in some of the top venues around the world. McDonald is a native of California, born in Fresno California to a music family, completed her classical voice training in New York's Juilliard School. The year 1994 was the year after she graduated from Juilliard School, McDonald was awarded the Tony Award for "Best Performance of a Leading Actress the Musical" for her performance in Carousel. Over the next four years, she won two more Tony Awards for the category of featured actress. The show she was in Broadway premieres Terrence McNally's musical Ragtime as well as Terrence McNally's production of Master Class in 1996. The result was an astonishing number of Tony Awards by the time she reached the age of thirty. She won her fourth Tony by starring on stage in A Raisin in the Sun with Sean Diddy Combs. McDonald's first role as a dramatic television actor was on the Peabody Award-winning CBS program Having Our Say The Delany Sisters' Early 100 Years. After that, in 1999, she co-starred with Kathy Bates and Victor Garber on the ABC/Disney television version of Annie. And in 2000, she played a regular role in NBC's well-known show Law & Order Special Victims Unit. McDonald's performance in the HBO production Lady Day At Emerson Bar and Grill earned her a four-time Emmy nomination in 2016. The Bite is a drama with six seasons based around a pandemic, coproduced with Spectrum Originals & CBS Studios. The show featured her with Taylor Schilling & Steven Pasquale. Having first appeared in the role of U.S. attorney Liz Lawrence in 2009 on CBS's legal show The Good Wife in 2018 McDonald reprised the role (now named Liz Reddick) as a season regular on The Good Fight on Paramount+ receiving three Critics Choice Award nominations for her role. The actress is a featured appearance for the HBO series The Gilded Age by Julian Fellowes.
