Catherine Ford is a British actress who was born in Bloomsbury. After her father left her household, the actress was grew up by her mother godparents, and grandmother. She suffered from an anxiety disorder that was rooted in words as a young toddler. Ford began to be interested in acting as a teenager, and she joined the National Youth Theatre. She had been accepted to Sylvia Young Theatre School. After a couple of weeks, she realized this school wasn't suitable for her. Ford then applied to be a student for the Central School of Speech and Drama and was admitted on her fourth attempt. Shaun Dingwall played Pete Tyler on Doctor Who. Ford's debut on TV was the 1991 episode Surgical Spirit. By the moment she was done with school, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". Through the Nineties, Tate could be found on TV in shows like The Bill, Men Behaving Badly and London's Burning. Her regular work in theatre led her to join the Royal Shakespeare Company, for the 2000-2001 season. However, Tate quickly began gaining recognition for her stand-up comedic performances, which she added to her resume in the year 1996.
